Yes, there is a rechargeable battery system available for the Freedom™, Nucleus 5™ and Hybrid cochlear implant processors. The performance of the rechargeable battery compared to three high powered zinc air batteries (size 675) is similar to that described above - shorter battery life and lots of recharging.
