Global Drying Kit by Dry & Store
Physical Properties Electrical Characteristics Click here for the Operating Instructions (PDF, 1.14Mb). Desiccant A Dry-Brik typically lasts about two months. Actual life depends on season, area of country, and lifestyle of the user. Replacement desiccants are inexpensive and are available online. Germicidal Properties Note: The UV-C lamp is a surface sanitizer only, and it has little to no penetrating power. This means that it is not damaging to plastics or earmolds. Germicidal lamps are not to be confused with sunlamps or blacklight lamps, for while those are also ultraviolet lamps, the UV produced by a sunlamp or blacklight is of longer wavelength and is not useful for germicidal applications. Dry & Store Global |
| I have now had Dry & Store Global for several months, having previously had little if any success with standard dry-aid tubs.
The Global has a built in fan and heater which in my experience does a better job at removing moisture from the hearing aid and ear mould. It also has a germicidal light which is supposedly said to kill some bacteria, but I can't from observation really verify that it does. AS I sweat a lot, the Global has been a huge help at removing moisture that I would normally have had to have extracted by my audiologist. I recommend it to all hearing aid users as a "must-have" device. One word of advice: remove batteries before putting aid in dryer. Instruction manual says otherwise. I experienced no extended battery life as claimed by manufacturer. I would lean to the side of caution and remove the batteries in case they leak. |
